This specimen was captured in Rio Bosque Wetland Park by Mr. Salvador Quintanilla and kept in a terrarium for an educational show.
Dr. Brent Hendrixson (tarantula expert) identified this spider commenting: “This would be an immature Aphonopelma gabeli, probably the most common species in the Chihuahuan Desert.”
