Hundreds of Monarchs were crossing the Interstate I-10 at Ozona, TX on their way to their hibernating sites in Mexico. Sadly, many were getting killed by the passing traffic (80 mph speed limit). This specimen was one of the many unfortunate bugs. Most Monarchs were intent in crossing the highway, flying at low altitude.
