Collected Polypore fungi from a stump of a large pine tree on 5/17/25 and placed them in mason jars with mesh lids
I found this fly and four others exactly like it on 5/25/25 (eight days after collection), but considering that two flies were dead, they could have emerged a couple of days earlier
Probably, they were parasitizing a moth species because the fungi had lepidopteran pupal exuviae
