This was an abundant species during a “bug blacklighting party” with six blacklight setups spread throughout Ida Canyon. There must have been well over 30 of these beautiful beetles attracted to the lights.
Attracted to mercury vapor and ultraviolet lights
Determined in the field by Margarethe Brummermann, Art Evans, and Steve Lingafelter
