FAMILY CERAMBYCIDAE (Longhorned Beetles)

Coleoptera-Cerambycidae-Aneflomorpha rectilinea-Longhorn Beetles MALE (E)

Aneflomorpha rectilinea

Patagonia, Santa Cruz County, Arizona
Size: 15 mm
Data label says “summer of 2012”
Collected, mounted, and determined by Dr. Jason T. Botz
Confirmed by Dr. Steven W. Lingafelter based on these images.
Dr. Lingafelter said: “It’s a common, widespread species, but unfortunately variable and similar to other species. Determining the species limits of “A. rectilinea” is very difficult. There aren’t many external characters that are reliable. A view of the prosternal process (especially the apex) is necessary to see how closed or open the procoxal cavities are posteriorly.”
