2017 Texas Master Gardener Program @ Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service

The Master Gardener program offers 12 weeks of intensive horticulture training on such topics as vegetable gardening, trees and pruning, xeriscaping, soils, fertilizers, plant pests and more. After successful completion of the course, participants are required to volunteer time, sharing with the community what they have learned through a number of educational related projects.

The fee for the course is $195.00. Each participant will be provided the Texas Master Gardener Handbook (a comprehensive horticultural text) as well as various other handouts on topics covered in each class. Orientation is set to begin August 31st with a four hour session. Classes will begin on September 7th and continue through November 16th, 2017.

Classes will meet every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and will be held at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office Ascarate Annex, 301 Manny Martinez Dr. 79905 and will be taught by professionals from the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, as well as other regional horticulture experts.

Backyard Basics Workshop @ Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center

Join us for our Backyard Basic workshop and learn how to create a small  scale food productions from home.

Canning Jam Basics • Honey Backyard Beekeeping • Fall Vegetables • Backyard Chickens • Food Safety/Cottage Law • Grafting/Plant Propagation

Class Fees- $40 Registration
