Are you looking to learn how to do business with the State of Texas through the HUB program? \nIf you answered YES to any of these questions\, the B.I.D Academy is for you! \n\n\nAbout B.I.D.\nThe Community Economic Development unit at Prairie View A&M University has been meeting with the Texas Comptroller’s Purchasing division to focus on strategies that increase bid participation and sales among Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB’s) who can provide goods and services to over 200 Texas agencies\, universities\, school districts\, and large industries that participate in the statewide bidding process. \nThe B.I.D. Academy teaches you the essential business skills and effective strategies for working\, managing\, and doing business with government agencies. This academy is a FREE 9-week curriculum that will take your business through the process of not only getting HUB certified but business planning\, marketing\, and developing a winning bid proposal! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClasses include\n\nHUB Program Overview\nBookkeeping/Accounting\nTaxes and Insurance\nBusiness Planning/Marketing\nSubcontracting\nNontraditional Financing\nBid Proposals/Graduation\n\nWho Should Enroll\nThe B.I.D Academy is for new or existing businesses looking to do government contracting. \nEarning the Certificate\nThe courses are offered in a classroom format and in person.  Therefore\, it is essential to attend all 7 classes to earn the certificate.  Each course may consist of powerpoints\, assignments\, homework\, online research\, and a final exam. \nTuition\nFREE \nApplication\nPlease fill out the online application to be accepted into the program and allow 5 business days for application review. \n\nApply to BID Academy
