Galls attached to Atriplex canescens (fourwing saltbush). I placed the galls in a jar, hoping to obtain adults. A gall, that I opened in the field, contained a pupa. Two days later (October 6, 2021), when I was ready to photograph it, the gall had this pupal casing and an adult fly had emerged.
