Collected galls attached to Atriplex canescens (fourwing saltbush) and placed them in a jar, hoping to obtain adults. A gall, that I opened in the field, contained a pupa. Two days later (October 6, 2021), when I was ready to photograph it, the gall had a pupal casing and this adult fly had emerged.
