Confirmed by Kelsey J.R.P. Byers who said: “Note the straight R4+5 vein and mostly bare eyes, which separates it from Scaeva pyrastri, which also has whitish curved markings on the abdomen and is in the same tribe.”
Bill Dean’s comments: “The black somewhat semi-circular mark above the black antennae and clear pale yellow band separating it from the rest of the frons…”
