Determined by Dr. Peter W. Messer, who said: “Discoderus sp. based on imaged pronotum sufficiently rotund/convex AND protibiae sufficiently plurispinose along distal half of outer margins. I don’t wish to go beyond genus with images alone for this tricky group.” Later, he determined the species as D. robustus
Found over 20 of these beetles under cinder blocks, which were lying on the ground
